The Apartments by the Sloane Club

Last updated 9th June 2017

Why go?

The Apartments by the Sloane Club are just a two minute walk from upmarket Sloane Square and the trendy Kings Road in the bustling heart of Chelsea, London. All of London’s major attractions are easily accessible by bus, tube or for the more adventurous, on foot. It’s a good place to base yourself and your family if you’re looking for a self-catering break in a quieter part of the city.

These apartments are well thought-out and although they’re modern, are set in traditional architecture, and inside have minimal clutter.

Nearby, enjoy the designer shops, including Harvey Nicks and Harrods, and the lovely greens of Hyde Park where in the summer months you can stop for a picnic lunch. You may even be able to catch the Household Cavalry riding around the Serpentine in Hyde Park.

There’s also the Science Museum and Natural History Museum nearby – and all are within a short hop on any of London’s transport network or just a £10-£20 fare in a famous Hackney Carriage London cab.

If you want to travel far, we recommend getting around by bus or taxi – kids will marvel at the city sites.

Accommodation

The 18 apartments are a mix of studio, one and two-bedroom designs within several beautiful nineteenth century ‘Pont Street Dutch’ houses in a quiet residential road.

There’s a great amount of space in the family sitting rooms and a dining room table crying out for a traditional Sunday roast in the apartments

The bedrooms are luxurious and have cosy Siberian goose down duvets that aid a good nights’ sleep.

The in-room kitchen fittings may catch the less technically gifted unawares with their functionality – but if you’re dining in, you’ll feel almost as pampered as eating out with these facilities. There’s all the usual utensils and crockery provided, but saucepans, chopping boards and tea towels do come at a premium.

When travelling with your family, the arrival gifts aimed at your children’s’ age group are a lovely touch, as is the champagne and gift basket for us parents! The pristine and expensive surroundings may keep you a little on edge if you have a grubby-fingered three-year-old and a slightly colic six-month-old, but the apartments suit those who like their independence and space.

Babysitting services

The Apartments by Sloane Club have a collaboration with the Norland Agency, a global babysitting brand that has been providing child care services since 1892.

Choose from a one-off nanny service or longer term care (up to a month if you need it!). Then you can go off to enjoy a night out in one of the many restaurants in the area while a trained professional look after the kids.

Price: £13-16 per hour with a minimum four hours booking.

Facilities

The Apartments by the Sloane Club has chefs at the nearby Sloane Club which offer a limited menu as part of room service or can – for a significant price – come to your apartment and cook a special meal for as many as you feel you can willingly host (and afford).

There is also a 24 hour concierge, WiFi and air conditioning, as well as Nespresso machines, L’Occitane toiletries, and daily house-keeping.

There is little a guest need bring here, which is handy when you’re packing up the children and heading for a city break.

The lowdown
