Rhonda Carrier knows where to travel for active holidays.
When traveling with small children, especially boys, what would be a good place to go to, for an active holiday?
A:
Most kids are bundles of energy, but young boys in particular, like puppies, go a bit stir crazy unless they get the prerequisite amount of exercise.
We’re fans of PGL Family Activity Holidays – you get to do a vast array of activities over a few days (canoeing, raft-building, quad-biking, zip wiring and much more) so everyone gets challenged. It’s a fantastic bonding experience.
A watersports-based holiday is a good bet. I watched in delight as my aquaphobic nine-year-old fell in love with the sea last year at a Mark Warner resort in the Med, after trying out waterskiing, sailing and sea kayaking.
This is also the perfect age to start kids skiing and/or snowboarding, but there are plenty of other options – surfing is great as soon as all the kids can swim, and hiking or cycling holidays are also wonderful options.
