If you don’t want to travel too far with your small children, these UK destinations will make you feel, as if you are in a country far away.
What is a good place to go to, if you don’t want to travel too far with your small children, yet want to give them a feeling of a trip abroad?
You can’t beat a holiday by the seaside and the Isle of Wight is the perfect destination for toddlers and a great place for parents to reminisce about their childhood holidays. There are toddler-friendly attractions, such as the Isle of Wight Steam Railway and The Needles Park at Alum Bay, which has a chairlift down to the beach and lots of rides.
Ryde is also worth a visit to check out the fun fair, boating lake and parks, before lunching on fish and chips. There’s accommodation to suit all budgets, from camping and caravans – I’d recommend The Orchards Holiday Caravan and Camping Park in Newbridge, where tent pitches start from £18 per night and caravans from £110 a week – to B&Bs and, for something a bit more luxurious, there’s the Priory Bay, a country house hotel with luxury yurts in the garden (from £200 per night) and barns and cottages (from £735 a week).
