Fiona Faulkner has tips on healthy eating for kids on holiday.
It’s no secret that kids tend to be a bit on the picky side when it comes to eating. What are some tips about how to handle it when travelling?
A:
It’s not so much where you eat but how. Allow your child to ‘share’ off your plate, or let them order two starters rather than a main. Try a vegetable soup first (with crusty bread to dip in) or simply a few raw vegetable crudités. Kids live off pasta. A good hotel shouldn’t mind a request to purée some veg into the sauce. Ask hotels to email you menus — so you can familiarise your kids with them before you go on holiday.
